24 December 2008 - Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all of you and all the best for 2009!
Happy Holidays!

18 December 2008 - Harder Beat Review - Love It To Death - The Rockstar, 11/22/08

The D/FW music scene turned out to support a special show benefiting The Rockstar, which had recently fallen on hard times. Throughout the day, an assortment of original and cover bands played and a silent auction. Amazing Houston-based Alice Cooper tribute band, Love It To Death, headlined the event. Paul Byron does a dead-on impersonation, complete with authentic costume changes and all kinds of assorted props. Mike Lambert (guitar), Rob Jacobs (guitar), Greg Norton (bass) and Mike DeLuco play the material as well as any musicians who ever played with Cooper. After seeing the real Alice Cooper recently, I have a newfound appreciation of just how flawless Love It To Death’s performance really is. Highlights included “No More Mister Nice Guy,” “Schools Out,” “Billion Dollar Babies,” and “I’m Eighteen.” LITD is the next best thing to seeing Alice himself.

19 September 2008 - Various Cancellations

Due to Hurricane "IKE" there have been many cancelled shows all along the Gulf Coast area for several of the bands I play drums for. Check my schedule for the cancelled or postponed shows. Most of the cancellations are due to the venues just don't exist anymore.

Hopefully all the afflicted will manage get help to pick up the pieces and re-build their lives. All my band mates and their families reported in to each other. All safe and Sound.
Thank You very much

Peace

Mike

31 August 2008 - Bill Nelson CD Release at SummerBurn

"Thanks from NastyDog
I got to shoot Bill Nelson yesterday at F.B.I. 1 at the Summer Burn Fest. This is a great act. Bill Nelson is one of the finest, most original, guitarist's in Houston. He released is CD "Muddy Brazos River Bottom Blues"to the public and performed about 12 songs from that effort, and gifted comes to mind in his lyrics and arrangements. Bill Nelson is backed by two individuals, as Bill described, "stone cold professionals", I would agree. Paul Byron on bass, and Michael Deluco on drums. These guys were with Bill, note for note. Again, it was my pleasure."

I would like to thank NastyDog for coming out to do the photo shoot for Bill Nelson's CD Release show. It was a pleasure to finally get meet him in person. NastyDog does great live photography. I am really looking forward to seeing the results.

And Special thanks to Bill Nelson for being such an imaginative guitarist and for the trust and support for the CD he showed in me. Now we have Mr. Paul Byron on bass showing that seriuosly stanky pocket. Paul is a monster and a great showman.

25 Aug 2008 - Bill Nelson CD Project

Bill Nelson- Guitar and Vocals, The Band is made up of a swirling cast of characters who drift in and out of the frame when they are not touring or otherwise engaged. The usual supsects are: Jammin Joe Shahda on bass, and Dr. Mark Sherman on drums: two guys that stay real busy playing in clubs, and honky tonks all around Houston.
However, I have also had the absolute priviledge and joy of working with the incredibly talented Paul Byron (vocalist, bassist, and keyboardist extraordinaire) as well as the slamminest Mighty Mike Deluco, on the skins! I have to thank: Love it to Death, CRASH, The Rhythym Kings, and Pat Travers for loaning me the talented Paul and Mike, on many gigs and studio sessions.
Also, last but not least, I have had the joy and honor of having the incredible vocalist Miss Joanna Santana work with us on many live dates, and she also makes a couple of appearances on the record! Appearing on the record are:Andy Andrus, Mike Solina, drums and bass on: "Dog Face Blues," "Blind Side," "Going Down," "NOLA," Knocking on Heaven's Door," and "Tomorrow Never Knows." Paul Byron, and Mike DeLuco: bass and drums on "Mojo in the Morning," "Leaving Houston," "The Visitor," "Lady on the Hill," "Muddy Brazos River Bottom Blues," and "Down in the Quarter," (Electric Version!) Miss Joanna Santana: sizzling sassy vocals on "Knocking on Heaven's Door," and "Going Down!"

15 Aug 2008 - Harder Beat Review

Love It To Death - Firewater, 7/4/08
A tribute band is more than just some guys onstage playing their favorite artist's songs. The really good ones put on a show and make you actually believe in the illusion they create. Houston's Alice Cooper tribute, Love It To Death, is by far one of the best tribute bands around. Paul Byron does a dead-on Alice Cooper impersonation. Every detail is perfect - from his voice and mannerisms to the authentic makeup, stage costumes and props. Mike Lambert (guitar), Rob Jacobs (guitar), Greg Norton (bass) and Mike DeLuco (drums) play each song flawlessly. LITD perform most of Cooper's biggest hits including "School's Out," "I'm Eighteen," "No More Mr. Nice Guy," "Billion Dollar Babies" and "Poison." They also do some killer deep album cuts like "Only Women Bleed," "Go To Hell" and "Lost In America." This band is as good as it gets. See them once, and you're guaranteed to pull out the old Alice Cooper albums the next day. (Andy Laudano)

14 Jul 2008 - Rythm Kings Announcement

We are proud to announce that Rob Jacobs has agreed to join us as guitarist to fully round out the RK sound. Rob brings many years of experience and will be a welcome addition. His slide work is reminiscent of the late great Duane Allman and his leads are lightning fast or slow, smooth and precise - as the mood calls. Some of you may recognize Rob as the lead guitarist for Just Got Lucky, as he did play for them for over ten years. He is also with CRASH and Love It To Death.

Also, although he has been playing with us for a while - let it be known that Mike DeLuco is now THE drummer for the Fabulous Rythm Kings. Mike has actually played with us before a few years ago and we are excited that he has agreed to bring his extraordinary rock/blues playing style to the RK stage once again. Mike has played with many great bands both locally and nationally - notably the legendary Pat Travers. He is also the drummer for Love It To Death and CRASH.

Rob Jacobs and Steve Stultz proved to be a force to be reconed with as they exchanged fire on the RK stage this past Saturday night at T-Bone Tom's in Kemah. The "twin lead" sound on some songs was no less than stunning! From the Allman's "Rambling Man" to BadCo's "Can't Get Enough Of Your Love" - these two axe masters soared. The rhythm section of Byron & DeLuco has proven to be a deadly combination that will leave you absolutely breathless.

Now that you have read about us - come out and see for yourself the power of Blues, R&B and Classic Rock like you have never seen before!
